The earthquake series was caused by a strike-slip fault, or more commonly known as a transform fault. Here, the borders of the African, Arabian, and Anatolian tectonic planets would slide against each other creating friction and thus causing an earthquake. The first quake was recorded at a 7.8 magnitude and was the instigator of over 570 aftershocks in the next 24 hours, with many of them being of 4.5 magnitude or greater.

Hotel Efforts
In the wake of the 2023 Turkey-Syria Earthquake, hotels played a crucial role in providing immediate shelter and relief to the affected individuals and families. Many hotels in the surrounding areas opened their doors to those displaced by the disaster, offering temporary accommodation, meals, and basic amenities. The hotel industry swiftly mobilized their resources and staff to ensure the comfort and safety of the survivors. Rescue Efforts
The rescue operations following the Turkey-Syria Earthquake were met with a remarkable display of bravery, coordination, and determination.
