During my summer holidays, I had the pleasure of visiting Kodaikanal.

Kodaikanal, or Kodi as it is more commonly called is a scenic hill station located in Tamil Nadu.

On the long drive up, I could hear orchestras of crickets chirping in unison amidst the calm of the hills.

The lake in Kodaikanal, around which touristic and commercial life revolves has a serene calm .

In our lodgings and throughout Kodaikanal we could see flora abound in breathtaking ways,whether it be flowers growing wild on a house wall or the Thunder Lillies and Dancing Doll flowers had a simple but beautiful  charm about it .

 Monkeys roam free and accompany tourists in visiting the many touristic attractions that this city is famous for.

It?s a lovely place, to visit especially in the off-season when not many tourists are around.

The cool weather rests over the place as locals and tourists alike huddle in warm clothes.

Whether it be taking a ride across the lake, horse riding or cycling alongside it, being enveloped in the mist at Coakers walk, marveling at the towering trees in Guna caves or just taking all the nature in ,  Kodaikanal provides a respite  a break from the monotony of everyday life and  is a true retreat for nature lovers .
