This Monday I went to my city biggest government hospital to check on the condition of the patients, facility, and infrastructure. Through it is the biggest, this hospital have put 'ashamed'  tag over the government.
Growing discrimination is still on the verge and growing. Most of the people that were there don't have better economic condition. So this hospital is really a place for cheap treatment.
I ain't denying the fact that the doctors are well qualified but at the same time, I can't deny about their crucial behaviour towards the patients. They are treated more like a animal. I found the patient to outnumbered the total beds available. There were about 1800 beds available but the patients were in a number of more than 3000.
They were lying in the corridors and some in the main entrance of the hospitals.
I then went to check on the condition of facility and infrastructure. As i expected, I did't find a proper sewage system and any clean drinking water in the whole building of the hospital. The same was with the facility. Thirteen of the total test centre has been closed for more than one and a half year and the medicine, mostly, wasn't available enough for every patient.
Recently stampede held in the city caused the death of more than hundred and fifty people and the number of causality were around thousands. All the people were taken to the near by hospital.
Hospital member doesn't allowed the relative of the victims to have their dead bodies. The enquiry counter was totally messed up. People were abused by doctors and weren't given any information.
Recently, I met the people whose relatives were killed in the stampede. Obviously they were enraged by the action taken by government and hospital. Since the stampede and the last Monday act, when I talked to head of the hospital, the condition has been improving. In recent months, all the facility will be open soon along with new features and infrastructure implementation.

Pics reveal such a pathetic situation of hospital. Hospital infrastructure , hygiene , attitude -all seems to be bad. Glad to know that you could meet the head of hospital and you are seeing /expecting some improvement. Thanks for sharing , Basu.

Very grim situation indeed, Basu! Felt sad about the condition of poor & sick children.
I presume that this is the report about the hospital in Patna, you home town.
Govt. hospitals have improved a lot in India but more is needed to be done in this direction.
