Sharjah zone air quality to be checked |

In line with the directives of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah to make Sharjah clean , green emirate ,another green step is taken to prove emirate?s commitment to preserving the environment. One of the economic free zones of UAE i.e. Hamriya Free Zone Authority (HFZA) , has decided to install continuous and portable ambient air quality monitoring stations in the Free Zone to monitor the levels of air pollution at all times. This will enable assessing the extent of pollution , to evaluate control options and provide data for air quality modelling . These ambient air quality monitoring networks are designed to address environmental and human health objectives . The system will also help in identifying and managing risk or breach of norms by companies operating in the free zone . The monitoring will assist in determining the daily trend of air pollutants and to assess the free zone?s compliance with air quality standards. It will also assist in evaluating the potential impact of the air pollutants on the environment and on the health of the free zone population and the general public. In addition, reliable and updated information on air pollution will be available to the general public. |

Would have been more benificial if you posted pictures of the zone that you are speaking of and the airing stations though :) nonetheless it is still a very good approach

Again a very great initiative by UAE in environment conservation. Obviously, air quality monitoring stations will help to access the air quality and to find the perfect solutions to be implemented. Thank you Arushi for sharing.

Air quality monitoring stations seems to have multiple contributions in controlling air pollution. Updated information about air pollution status would for certain encourage government and public to take concrete actions :) Keep sharing :)

Good news! Thank you for sharing, Arushi :) Well, I've been suffered from asthma for months and the doctor told me to stay in any rural area where fresh air is. The reason of my illness was polluted air. The air quality is that important. Now that the gauges are ready for check, the air quality will be also improved as the result. Good thing!

The air pollution really needs to be checked. The more i read about pollution, scarier the picture gets.
Like you have pointed, if studying on effects of air pollution to environment and human health becomes easier than we can sort out best possible ways to minimize/control it for healthier tomorrow .
