Deforestation is considered to be one of the contributing factors to global climate change.the No. 1 problem caused by deforestation is the impact on the global carbon cycle. Gas molecules that absorb thermal infrared radiation are called greenhouse gases. If greenhouse gases are in large enough quantity, they can force climate change. While oxygen (O2) is the second most abundant gas in our atmosphere, it does not absorb thermal infrared radiation, as greenhouse gases do. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the most prevalent greenhouse gas.Trees can help, though. 300 billion tons of carbon, 40 times the annual greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels, is stored in trees. The deforestation of trees not only lessens the amount of carbon stored, it also releases carbon dioxide into the air. This is because when trees die, they release the stored carbon. deforestation releases nearly a billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere per year, though the numbers are not as high as the ones recorded in the previous decade. Deforestation is the second largest anthropogenic (human-caused) source of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, ranging between 6 percent and 17 percent. Carbon isn't the only greenhouse gas that is affected by deforestation. Water vapor is also considered a greenhouse gas. "The impact of deforestation on the exchange of water vapor and carbon dioxide between the atmosphere and the terrestrial land surface is the biggest concern with regard to the climate system. Changes in their atmospheric concentration will have a direct effect on climate.
Forests are complex ecosystems that affect almost every species on the planet. When they are degraded, it can set off a devastating chain of events both locally and around the world. Did you know that the promise of tomorrow lies in the Face of impossible odds, and people who love their country can change it.Young people are the common denominators we can turn the tide and shift the Paradigm, all it takes is one tree at a time, as a Representative of the 3 billion youth worldwide I challenge you to join me repopulate the planet and replenish forests. #Plant_for_the_planet #Trees_for_climate_justice #Paradigm_Youth_Network

Deforestation not only increases greenhouse gas emissions but also disrupts the water cycle, increases soil erosion and decreases the natural beauty of an area . People must understand that by cutting trees , they are cutting their oxygen pipe. Let's plant more and more trees and save our planet. Thanks for the report , Jack.

That is totally true mate. Deforestation crash the planet. The worst is that we are the ones who do that. Lets work green mate =) Thanks for your report. Keep it up.

Yeah dear Jack, Deforestation is one of the anthropogenic cause for emission of GHGs. I respect the campaign Plant for the Planet. Just want to add, Save trees Save Lives :)

Deforestation is a huge problem and need to be addressed. It harms our environment and is the major cause of all the environmental problems like pollution, climate change, global warming, etc that we face today. Thanks for the report.
