Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCCC) states the Earth temperature rised from 0.13 to 0.15 degrees Celsius (1990-2005) and it is estimated that the temperature will be reaching 4.2 degrees Celsius by 2050-2070. The increasing temperature lead the change of the Earth's ecological life. Food security now is at risk as well. If this condition continues, could we still say that the earth is still save for us? Could we still do our daily life as usual?

As centers of human civilization, Cities has a important role. Global warming, degradation of environmental quality, and environmental disasters create awareness about sustainability city life. Now, many cities around the world trying to develop green city concept. One of the efforts to create a green city is to build a open green space. Open green space in the city will act to balance ecosystem in the city, include hydrological ecosystem, climatology, biodiversity, and other ecological systems, enhance the quality of life, human well-being.

The number of vehicles in many big cities tend to increase significantly and  contribute to CO2 emmission as well. One of the best ways to absorb CO2 naturally is to provide adequate open green space. Based on result of the Earth Summit II in Johannesburg, South Africa which issued that the city should provide at least 30% open green space from the total wide of the city as an ecological balancing. Existence of open green space in the city, besides as green infrastructure, it?s also expected as soil and water conservation, improve air temperature, Polution control, wildlife habitat, and conservation germplasm.

To achieve these !==!--object--==ives, the presence of open green space in the city need to be maximized.  People and the government should work together. So, the affect of the global warming can be reduced and the city will transform to the green city to create a sustainable life on earth.
