Saving Our Earth from Recycling I

by | 22-11-2012 05:25 recommendations 0

Hello everyone!

Today I brought up this article on recycling plastic bags.  While acknowledging the significance of recycling in helping the Earth currently on the verge of predicament, I thought it would be a great idea to inform you all on recycling plastic bags, since so many are being used these days.

There should be no doubt on how plastic bags have brought a great deal of comfort to us.  They are used in various ways these days, form vinyl packages for chips and cookies to noodle packages.  All these packages and bags can be recycled to manufacture other new products.  However, it seems not many people know this.  If you just throw cookie packages and carrier bags from marts into a garbage can, without consideration of recycling, you are not being helpful in protecting our environment.  Only one percent of plastic bags are properly recycled worldwide.  Foutunately, many countries such as Ireland, Bangladesh, South Africa, Thailand and Taiwan are leading the recycling of plastic bags.  Recycling plastic bags has become one of the most crucial activities to saving our environment.

Plastic bags are the main culprit of destructing our environment.  When plastic bags are buried underground, they stay there for about 1,000 years  they are non-degradable.  All those plastic bags we have buried underground could be found in one piece by our great-grandchildren.  Consider the moment that your great-grandchildren see this trash buried underground hundreds of years ago.  Will they be happy?  Some may think that you can incinerate plastic bags.  However, when they are burned, harmful chemicals such as dioxins are produced, causing a variety of health problem such as liver failure and skin cancer.  The problem doesn't stop there.  Residual effects should never be ignored.  Residual carcinogens left in your body will not only harm you, but also your babies.  The pain will carry on to future generations.  Even animals are not safe from plastic bags.  According to the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation, more than a million birds and about 100,000 marine animals and sea turtles die every year from eating or getting entangled in plastic.

As you all know, the major purpose of recycling is to save and reuse resources.  Resources that humans can use on this planet are limited.  If we don't use resources wisely, they will be depleted very quickly.  This is another reason to recycle.  By reusing what we already used, we can save our resources and use them more efficiently.

What do we need to do to recycle plastic bags or packages properly?  First, you need to check the recycling labels on the bag or the package for codes such as HDPE, PP and OTHER (the coding system could be different between nations).  Then, you should fold and pack plastic bags as small as possible.  Finally, they should be disposed of in a separate garbage can specified for its use with a label.

Recycling plastic bags is not the only thing to do to save the earth from discarded plastic bags.  Other efforts should follow: raising public awareness about recycling plastic bags.  To make people realize the importance of recycling plastic bags and put this realization into action in their everyday lives, civilian volunteers, environmental activities and groups, non-governmental organizations and even the government should undertake campaigns.  Every citizen who has heard dreadful facts about plastic bags and been informed of useful tips for recycling them should share these with his or her family members, friends, and neighbors and appeal to them to start recycling their plastic bags.

The Earth is approaching the end.  Land is filled with trash including plastic bags and plastic food packaging.  Without plastic, the Earth would be a much better to live.  However, it seems too late to eliminate all the plastic existing in this world.  We can't live without plastic.

Plastic is everywhere.  Even though we know that plastic bags will take the Earth to the end, we cannot stop using them.  However, it does not mean that we have a gloomy future ahead because we have a solution: recycling plastic.  With recycling, our future will become brighter and brighter.  We may see more beautiful forests and wild animals.  If we all gather together and start recycling right now, we, our children and further generations will be able to walk toward a better, cleaner and safer world.

Yes, because there are a loooooooooooooooooooooooot of kinds of plastics.
This makes people mentally tired. So people know the importance but begin to start ignore it. I think that's the problem.

I do the thing on the picture at home.
As you know in Korea, there is a specific duty on garbage disposal.
