FACILITATING THE DIALOGUE SESSION OF UNEP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DURING GMGSF |

One of the highlights of the Global Major Groups Stakehholders Forum, held at the UNEP headquarters in Nairobi,Kenya , is the dialogue session of UNEP?s Executive Director with the Major Groups and Stakeholders. It is an eagerly anticipated event and this year was no exception. It was therefore a momentous occasion when as the MGCY coordinator , I was chosen to facilitate this session. Mr. Achim Steiner , Executive Director of UNEP , very kindly gave us two hours of his time and it was truly inspirational listening to him. He urged greater engagement of all stakeholders and major groups with UNEP and reiterated his vision of our engagement at all stages of planning, policy making and implementation. In my closing remarks, I thanked Mr. Steiner for his support and inspiration especially for children and youth. |
