Liberia Biodiversity Liberia, a country that is not known for its wildlife had many species in the forest that helps makes the Ecosystem environmental friendly. Deer is one of the wildlife that is being endangered badly in Liberia. Our biodiversity as it relates to wildlife, which deer helps our ecosystem. Deer is consumed on a vast scale in Liberia, and in rural areas it often serves as protein source for villagers, but once transported in the city the price increases because of the high level of demand. Deer meat is very much endangered in the forest of Liberia, because it is the source of market for citizens. I recommend that the hunters or those that killed wildlife in the forest should contact the Environmental Protection Agency for permit on wildlife protection and species that should not be killed, because wildlife too needs to be protected. Deer is a species that people in Liberia consumed on a regularly basis, and also deer helps our reduction of poverty because there will be plenty of meat to eat in food. This is my analysis on the Deer species in Liberia. |

Thanks for sharing, Burton. It was astonishing to know that deers are in danger of extinction in Liberia. Though we cannot ban people from eating deer meat, but there's need to promote that these animals needed to be protected at some point.

Here in Nepal, It is strictly banned to kill wildlife and punished by law. Dont your country have strict rules to punish the culprits. We have many sources of meat like Goat, Poultry, Birds, Sheep, Ruminants and many more. Please follow these ideas to reduce loss of biodiversity.

That can only be solved by introducing other alternative meal to serve villagers other than that is way more difficult to tell them to stop hunting deer.In my country in some places they also feed on deer but the percentage is very very low due to the presence of other meats which are way more cheap,for example cow and goats etc

I didn't know deer meat is popular in Liberia. Well I don't think I can judge this situation as people seem to have no other option than to hunt wild games to feed their households. Thanks for sharing

Yes, you are right Burton. Good that hunting isnt allowed in my country. Here, you have to hsve a special contract with the government in order to do hunting...
