About three weeks ago, a crocodile was stoned to death by visitors at Belvedere Zoo in Tunisia. The animal died of an internal hemorraging. A photo of the dead crocodile , its head bloody and battered, went viral on the Internet.
Other animals were not spared . Lions are in lamentable conditions, hungry , skeletal , sick , children were filmed riding on the back of a rhinoceros, gazelles of a rare specie were stolen by a group of deliquents to make them an aperitif ! There are also many other inappropriate , cruel behaviors towards dogs in bloody fightings and horses in races . Despite the several petitions sent to the goverment by very concerned people accusing these brutal inhuman incidents , the cry was totally ignored and nothing was done . obviously most of the people don't care or they ridiculously enjoy that ! How could they be such indifferent and cold hearted ? These harmful behaviors to animals , malicious , brutal killing must stop . Animals have always been of great benefits to us and to the environment . Therefore, we have to rise consciousness and awareness , people should know that animals have feelings just like humans . As social media have a great impact on people nowadays , I decided to start a campaign on Facebook in order to help save these innocent creatures. #Don't zoo me Sources: Webdo The guardian

Siwar, thank you for the report. Nice hash tag at the end, #Don??t zoo me. It is a shame when people kill animals for fun or not with a purpose like self-defence. I am glad that people are sending petitions, but it is unbelievable that the government has done nothing yet. You could tell us more if you see any changes. If the government carries out some measures or if people raise their voices higher. Also you could go on searching similar issues in other nations and tell us about it.

This is really sad. I think every country should have a regulation that would control such behaviors and have offenders punished. Really saddening...

Animal abuse is international issue. Here in Dubai some persons fed a live cat to dogs. UAE lawmakers came heavily down on them. Full legal options were enforced. In addition to Jail term & heavy fine, these culprits were ordered to perform community service, clean the Zoo for 4 Hours a day for 90 days.
Strict law enforcement and community service is the key to deter such malpractices.

Hi Siwar, feel so sorry for the picture and the incident.
Animal cruelty has been discussed for a long time, but i think there is still a far long way to go.
Your report reminded me of a documentary about animlas being hunted and taken advataged to make fur coats, which was too shocking.
I strongly believe something should be done regarding this.

Very sad to hear about it. We should be able to understand that we must live in peace with nature and its every component. We should love animals and live in harmony with them.

It's such a disturbing picture. We should live in harmony with other creatures of God -be it animals or birds or cohumans. Let's spread awareness and promote 'Stop animal abuse'.
