by Dibya Bhatta | 05-09-2018 15:00 recommendations 0

Galleria mellonella,Wax moths can be a terrible problem to bee hives if allowed to get out of hand and will destroy brood comb in a very short time if unchecked.
But these  wax moths can be employed to help reduce plastic pollution.
Yeah you heard it right!these moths have capacity of eating and digesting plastic.
In today's world where plastic pollution has become a mysery these insects can be used to solve the problem.they can servive by solely feeding on plastic only for days. They can digest paper and fabrics as well. They are harmful for bee hives but alternative ly they are beneficial.
They even can digest paper cups and efficiently digest them as well.

If you ever liked my report you can recommend me as most inspirational ambassador of 20th term as well.

    Hello Dibya
It is amazing to know that certain living beings can actually digest plastics and live on with it.
Also, it is nice that the report clearly shows that everything has two sides and the decision making on how to use these features is what really matters.
    Thanks for sharing :)

Hello Dibya, I saw them on a couple of news before!
There were several types of creatures that eat plastic materials and other chemical compound mixtures in such articles.
Thanks for letting us know of their cases :)
