Reuse and recycling trend in Nepal

by | 19-04-2014 13:34 recommendations 0

Various companies are found to be recycling different products specially refilling. The LPG gas company reuses the gas cylinders which they receive from the customers after the use. Other example includes the refilling of soft drink bottle, mainly done by Coca-Cola and Pepsi Company. The plastic bottles of the soft drink are generally reused by the people as the water bottle rather than just crushing and dumping it.

Small recycling centers are found at many places in the cities. They buy recyclable items including papers, metals, and books from the general people and use it to recycle and make various products. This leads to the benefit of both the parties where the general people get to manage their waste and the centers can make something out of the waste. Some they exchange it with money whereas someone exchanges them with some products.

Reuse of book has also been promoted nowadays as many second hand book stores are opened at various places of the town where people can buy books at cheaper price, Both academic book as well as literature and magazines are found at such store. And in many schools including mine the senior pass their course to juniors so that there is no need of buying new books. Also some school themselves buy the books and pass it to the students charging less amount of money.

Library is good example of reuse of books. Many library which offers free membership are found where people go and read the same books. People borrow books and after finishing it, they pass it to others through library. Various readers club also have been established where they exchange and read different books. Other good aspect includes the donation of old and read books for the establishment of library in the rural areas.

Apart from that there are various organizations which give training to the people to make handicrafts and other product from waste products. Various exhibitions are organized in order to provide these products with the platform in the market.

These are the examples seen at large level in my country. At the basic level people reuse various boxes, cans and bottles for various purpose and people are full of creative ideas who create something out of nothing always.
