The thing that we take and leave mostly for living is AIR on this earth. Therefore, the most important element to remain alive is given totally free of cost by the creator. Could you imagine! Our living would be how much critical if we had to buy this inevitable thing. But the matter of regret that human beings have a tend to overlook any cost-free thing. I can extremely say that the day is not so far When we all have to buy this emergent element and that will be result of dis-regarding today’s free cost thing.
I live in Bangladesh. Our country is mostly poverty stricken. Most of the people of our country usually spend their life behind collecting two square meals let alone thinking about the term like air pollution. Though they haven’t enough time to think about pollution they have so much extra time and money for smoking and polluting the air. That means the time which they get doing their professional work they spend behind air pollution. In other word, air pollution is their favorite pastime activity. They get the element of enjoyment in polluting air. The shocking news is that sometime they prefer polluting air over two square meals. Suppose, if any passenger prohibits any CNG (a vehicle) driver not to smoke, many of them will leave the passenger but save the smoking. That indicates that almost all of the smokers regard the prohibitor as enemy. Such is the perversity of human nature!
Besides, there are a lot of pollutants around us. With the phase of time the system of pollution also became developed. As I am a university student and I live far away from my university and every day I have to pass a long way to reach my destination. On the way, I meet with almost all of the pollutants. At first, when I wake up from sleep, I feel there are smokes all around which is emitting from the fire of every day’s dust. So, that is smoke which raise me from the sleep. Then, When I start my journey to college and go out of my home, I encounter with different types of pollutant; this time I feel that previous pollutant was better than this because the ejecting stink of the opened dustbin and drain nearly stops my breath and in this situation I have no option but to escape to the safe place. Next, I stand for the bus in bus station which is situated by the side of a market of cow, chicken, vegetable etc. and there the intense stench of animal discharge and other leftovers of the market terrifies me again and I feel again that this is much bitter than the previous contaminants. After that, I ascend into the bus and think that now I am free from all of the pollutants. But, as soon as I finish my thinking a huge cloud of fume of different vehicles wants to cover me; thus, the gigantic cloud breaks my dream of spending pollution free life for some time. Getting tired I enjoy the horrible scene of air pollution by the brickyards, factories, old expired vehicles etc.; besides, the temperature of the public bus always remains high. Finally, When I reach to my destination and get down from the bus, a blowing stack of dust greet me dreadfully. After a great struggle, I enter into university with a melancholic mind; I hardly concentrate on my study. At the time of running class I prepare myself for another struggle and worry about returning home. If you live in a developed country and never come to a developing country such as Bangladesh, you will fail to understand our regular execrable situation only due to air pollution.
The situation described in the above is only direct effects of air pollution; if you go to Dhaka medical college hospital’s cardiology, cancer, pneumonia etc. unit, you will see how people are fighting with death because of much air pollution related diseases. Thus, most of the patients accept death and become free from this cruel earth; the amount of dying people in each year is 1,23,000 in Bangladesh according to a recent research by state of global air, an international organization.
Vanishing air pollution is easy to say but very hard to apply. Nowadays, the people who have enough money take the help of technology to save themselves from the effects of air pollution; such as they use air conditioner for confronting warm environment. Consequently, they pollute air by the gas discharging from AC. It is true that they are becoming successful in saving themselves from the heat but they do not think that they are contributing in rising global warming. They also do not think that if earth will be destroyed due to global warming where they will set their AC!
We can’t sit idly. We must protect our motherland (this earth) from the verge of extinction. For this, we need a movement, a revolution to make the homeland habitable as like as ancient age. we need to work keeping hand in hand with one another forgetting all pride of richness because this time our mission is to protect our land, this time our struggle is to rescue our world!!!
