Air pollution is a hot topic to discuss today and so close to us. Visible or invisible and it creates many problems for us and for the environment and indeed we are basically responsible for this, vehicles and factory fumes are the source of this problem and there is no doubt that this exists because we are not responsible for the environment.
Such pollution is the result of burning fossil fuels that are released into the air and cause health problems if it enters the body through the respiratory system. Large pollutants can be retained in the upper respiratory tract, while small pollutants and gases can reach the lungs and then the pollutants are absorbed by the circulatory system and spread throughout the body and have impact on health, and the most common are ISPA, Asthma, and Bronchitis, etc.
Not only for human, it also has impact on plant that cause growth disturbance and susceptible disease, and pollutants are deposited on the surface of plants can inhibit the process of photosynthesis. Besides living things, air pollution also impacts the environment such as acid rain. The acid rain can occur because pollutants such as SO2 and NO2 react with rainwater and decrease the pH of rainwater so that the water that falls is acidic.
The impact given by acid rain can affect surface water quality, damage plants, dissolve heavy metals present in the soil so that it affects ground water quality, and is corrosive so that it damages materials and buildings.
And the most frequently discussed air pollution are the greenhouse effect, the greenhouse effect itself is caused by the presence of carbon dioxide, CFC, methane, ozone, and N2O in the troposphere which absorbs solar heat radiation reflected by the earth’s surface and as a result heat is trapped in the troposphere.
At first the greenhouse effect is very useful for the earth because it can keep the earth’s temperature warm, but the amount of pollutants that were too much caused the phenomenon of global warming which caused an increase in the earth’s average temperature, melting of polar ice caps, changes in global climate and even changes in cycles live flora and fauna.
And the next effect of air pollution is damage to the ozone layer, ozone layer itself is the natural protector of the earth which serves to filter out ultraviolet radiation from the sun. The formation and decomposition of ozone (O3) molecules occurs naturally in the stratosphere.
And because the CFC emissions that reach the stratosphere and are very stable cause the rate of decomposition of ozone molecules to be faster than their formation, so holes are formed in the ozone layer, damage to the ozone layer also contributes to global warming, this is what makes us have to reduce the use of energy from fossil fuels.
The need of energy produced from fossil fuels itself is inherent in human, but in this case the environment began to deteriorate due to resulting impact. Making us think about finding alternative pollution-free energy and electrical energy is the answer for this,
because electrical energy can be produced without having to use fossil fuels and the use of electrical energy does not produce residues and can replace the role of fossil fuels.
Electrical energy can be produced from motion energy and motion energy can be found in nature such as coming from wind or water and others and the change of motion energy to electrical energy is called kinetic energy. By utilizing the principle of electromagnetic induction we can produce electrical energy from motion energy and we can implement it as a substitute for fossil fuels, but unfortunately some countries still use fossil fuels as electricity generation because it is difficult to get large electrical energy from nature without adequate and supporting facilities which makes these countries have not yet fully switched to natural electricity generation.
Especially that the biggest contributor to air pollution is from vehicle fumes, if the vehicle’s energy source is converted to electricity, this can help in reducing air pollution, but these vehicles have to charge and as explained above there are still countries that use fossil fuels as a source of electrical energy.
So what if the car does not need to charge but produces itself with the help of motion energy, energy produced by it and converted into electrical energy and stored in car’s batteries and used as energy source for the car. this system utilizes energy changes and produces energy cycles.
This energy cycles will be the core of the energy source in the vehicle, as is the case with bicycle lights that can be lit by moving the bicycle wheels connected to the dynamo and turning them into electricity so that lights on the bicycle can light up. This concept is similar to bicycle lights but produces more enesrgy, complex engines and considerable motion energy.
Based on the theory above the level of the possibility of the success of the machine is quite large, but someone has to start the cycle so that the energy needed can be produced and if applied to vehicles and other engines, this can reduce the use of fossil fuels that produce pollution and be guarantee in the future and can beat air pollution and increase efficiency in the use of pollution-free energy.
And this is a big step for humans to defeat air pollution, this needs to be considered in order to be a solution to this problem, but we don’t need to wait for the application of the above theory but must start from ourselves by doing small things like riding public transportation and not burning rubbish carelessly. Starting from that small thing we can start a bigger change in the problem of air pollution and this can save our future and the next generation.
