7 environmental elements you should know _ water

Thales, the founder of natural philosophy, said that "water is the primary principle." Water has played a critical role in Earth's history. As he said, “life” was born out of water. This is why we search for water on Mars. If there is water, it is highly likely that there is life. Water is essential for human survival.

Living organisms are made up of water, which accounts for 50-97% of body weight. The body of a human contains about 45 liters of water. About 2.75 liters of it is replaced every day; about 1.5 liters by drinking water, approximately 1 liter by food, and around 0.25 liters by dried food. Thirst is the signal that the body requires water. If your body lacks 1-2% of water, you may experience severe thirst. When you lose 5%, you may fall into a coma, and if you lose about 12%, there is a risk of death. It would be easier for us if water stayed in our bodies so that we would not need to drink frequently. Why does water get released in the form of sweat, urine, and feces? There are many reasons. For example, not all the food we eat is necessary for our bodies. In the process of digestion, something harmful to our bodies is found or too much of something needs to be expelled from the body. These are dissolved in water and expelled as sweat, urine, and feces.

Do you know how much water on Earth is drinkable? The water on this planet can be divided into seawater and freshwater. Try to recall times you accidentally drank seawater at the beach. Seawater tastes salty because many substances are dissolved in it. Therefore, we feel thirstier when we drink it. We turn seawater into freshwater to get drinkable water, which requires a lot of energy. Water we can easily drink is freshwater. However, only 3% of the water on Earth is freshwater, while seawater takes up 97%. Freshwater includes icebergs, glaciers, streams, and groundwater. Even more than half of the freshwater sources are icebergs and glaciers. We get water to drink from rivers, groundwater, and sometimes rainwater. Water treatment plants provide drinkable tap water. Although tap water is drinkable, we do not use it just for drinking. For showering, laundry, cooking, and in the bathroom, we use tap water that has been made clean with a lot of energy. Water disposed of after use goes to sewage treatment plants through the sewer pipe. It takes a lot of energy to make the water clean again in sewage treatment plants. The cycle of water that goes back and forth between streams and households shows how much time, effort, and energy it takes. In addition, it takes water to manufacture the monitor that we are looking at now. Water is important not only to us but also to other animals and plants for survival. There is very less drinkable water than the water we need to live.

Let's look at the importance of water in the global ecosystem.

First, it is deeply related to the reason fish can survive in frozen lakes in winter.

If you look at a lake closely, only its surface freezes; underneath the frozen upper layer, the water does not freeze. The water keeps the lake's ecosystem throughout cold winters. The reason why water freezes from the surface is that water becomes ice at 0°C, and ice can float on water, as it is lighter than water. Therefore, fish can stay without freezing.

Second, the reason can be found in that water is often poured on the street in summer.

It takes heat for water to evaporate. If water is poured during the hot summer, the water absorbs heat and evaporates into the air. Then the heat disappears, making the temperature cooler. Water circulation plays an important role in the global ecosystem by raining in hot regions and snowing in cold places after absorbing heat and moving around.

Finally, it is related to how water striders can live on the surface of a lake.
The reason is the same as how blood can flow even in very small blood vessels. The components that make up water have strong cohesion. Therefore, the components of water are well united, which is described as having high surface tension.

In this way, water helps maintain the global ecosystem by playing various roles. Water will not disappear on Earth. However, there could be an insufficient amount of clean water for us to drink. As mentioned before, water is essential to our lives; it is the source of all life.

I totally agree that 'water is the source of all life'. Without it anything can survive. As there is a tiny percentage of water is drinkable, people should appreciate and don't waste it

Really water is the daily needs of ours. Without water no life is possible . Nowadays due to Awareness the people are destroying the source of water. It should be cotrolled otherwise there there would come huge scarse in life. The water that we we required should be consumed. The articl seems to be perfect for the people who destroys the resource of water.

Yes, water is most essential natural resources which is most each and every form of life . Increasing population growth has increased water pollution on the other hand avaialibilty of clean drinking water has decreased.
Water is very important for the growth nad develpment of our body so we should drink enough clean water.

Thank you Tunza for sharing wonderful report.

water doesn't get consumed. You can break water down to hydrogen and oxygen, but for the most part water is recycled;it's not like you use it once and it's gone. So we the global are not going to run out of water just that we have it in our role to take care of it. And water has got many various roles in our global ecosystem, and to mention a few from the survival of fish under frozen water, provision of rain through water cycle and its high surface tension. water helps in transport of substances across cells in the human body, basically water serves as medium for the metabolic functions and other chemical reactions that produce energy in the body. Without the medium(water), human beings' survival isn't inevitable. Water has got many and many roles in the global ecosystem and by that life seems to all be driven and accelerated around by water. So in a nutshell water is a key element for sustaining life as it is a foundational building block that supports the biochemistry of all life on the planet

Water is a way of life on earth. No lives are possible on the earth in the absence of the water. We must ensure that the water is safe and free from disease germs so as to prevent water-borne diseases.
It is astonishing to know that only 3% of the water is freshwater. Water constitutes about 50-94% of water. We must be conscious of the purity of water before we consume it.
The aquatic lives are also affected due to water pollution. We must act from ourselves to see the global change regarding water pollution.

Yes, Water is the source of all kinds of life. Drinkable water is very less but we human are still making it more scarce. Proper utilization is must and always sharing is caring.
Thank you @eco generation for your wonderful article about water and its importance. We should know the value of water.

Water is very essential component for life but access to fresh drinking water is very limited and with the impacts of climate change like drought we might experience more shortage of clean drinking water in future.
We must drink the required amount of water for our body and also wise utilization of water for other puroposes. It is alsonequally important for other activities like agriculture and water pollution harms aquatic life and entire ecosystem.
