Towards a Straw Free University

by | 27-05-2017 17:45 recommendations 1

Yesterday, our student council just gave free metal straw to students to make our university a straw less one #USTrawless.  I am really happy that they are actually having the initiative to make these projects, and it's also amazing how the students responded, many students waited in the long line just to get their metal straws, I looked at them in awe because they were all so excited to get the straws despite the scorching hot sun above them.

Many of the leaders in our school are really implementing projects in order to reduce harmful waste. Before I even enter my university, styro foams are already banned inside, that's why only paper packaging are allowed, even for food meals.

More so, this year, our college implemented a NO PLASTIC policy. I thought they were not going to be strict about it, but they really imposed this one really good. By the moment you enter the premises and you have plastics with you, they will confiscate it right away, no negotiations.

I am really glad that majority of leaders in our schools are capitalizing on projects that will potentially help in improving the environment.

Uncontrolled use of plastics needs to be curtailed. Worst part is most of the population is unaware of its harmful effects. Thanks for raising this awareness.

Establishments in our country are starting to eliminate plastics. I really hope that the future generation will not be as much dependent to plastic like us.
