#TAGYOURTREE

rees are very important to us in many ways. We cannot think of our existence without trees. Trees cover a great deal of our food deficiency by providing fruits and vitamins. They supply timber for various uses. Trees prevent soil erosion. Many kinds of medicines are prepared form leaves, roots and barks of trees. Above all, they help us to keep ecological balance supplying oxygen.

Plantation has been a major part of environmental activities but do we always need to wait for environment day every year to plant trees? Obviously not! Beside, what is the probability that the tree you planted grows and does exist? Keeping this in mind , we do recommend for the interesting event like ,#tagyourtree, which not only encourage people to plant trees but also assure the existence of the trees . We are not planting saplings but the actual trees above 3 feet so that they sustain in the long run.

objectives:

  • Plant trees above 3 feet in the location provided & needed.
  • Tag the previously existing trees with their local & scientific name.
  • Encourage all to participate in planting trees.                      The most interesting part of tree plantation this year is we are coming up with a program of,#TagYourTree where an individual, a group, couples, etc can have a tree named after them after paying a small amount to the nature. They will then be given the responsibility of taking a good care of their respective trees. This way, we develop a sense of attachment and responsibility towards the nature. Few years after, when we visit the university we can see our trees grow and that would definitely be an amazing feeling.
Environment doesn?t just belong to the Environmentalists and expert in the concern field but to all of us in and around the university. So, let?s get connected with nature. Lend a hand to plant trees.

Such a meaningful initiative, Kshitiz.... Tree planting is like taking care of a baby that will grow up to take care of us! I would rather call it 'Name Your Tree', so as to give the tree a name and treat it like a member of the family and take care of it...

That's a great event to come up with! Trees are truly such a vital source in today's world. They are needed for almost everything. Encouraging people to plant trees will not only be better for the environment but it will also create an attachment between the person and nature. This way they feel motivated to plant trees, take responsibility and plant more. Thank you for sharing:)

Nice event and great thought. Tree plantation is one of the most efficient ways to combat global warming. I am an ardant fan of planting trees and just look for opportunities to plant trees. I have been planting trees/saplings for last 6 years on all my birthdays. This year I planted 100 trees in April on my birthday, I had planted them at nursery schools (who have a gardener to look after them) and a villa (villa owner himself is a very responsible and is taking good care). I make it a point to plant at such a venue where they are well taken care of. I visit them often to see them growing.
I agree with you trees should not only left to planting but should be maintained and ensured for their proper growth and existence. Thanks for sharing.
