Presenting you the sixth fact of the EcoFact Series, ¡°The rate of deforestation equals to loss of 27 football fields every minute. If the current rate of deforestation continues, it will take less than 100 years to destroy all the rainforests on the earth.¡± #EcoFact6 #Deforestation Trees also play a critical role in absorbing the greenhouse gases that fuel global warming. They give Oxygen to breathe out. Trees are so much important. Every one of us know how important trees are to us too. But Do we really contribute to its protection? Is the current question that receives negative answer from most of the people saying, ¡°No, I haven¡¯t.¡± Trees contribute to their environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife. Although trees and forest are so much important to us, the deforestation is quite high the world. The world¡¯s rain forests could completely vanish in a hundred years at the current rate of deforestation. The Earth loses 18.7 million acres of forests per year, which is equal to 27 soccer fields every minute, according to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The scale of tree destruction, much of it done illegally, poses a grave threat to tackling both climate change and the massive global decline in wildlife. |

Hi Kushal.
Thank you for the 6th Eco fact.
I'm surprised both by the fast rate of the deforestation and the huge size of the forest that is to be preserved.
Once the forest is damaged, it takes so much time to recover it. Human society should try its best to save them before it's too late.
Thank you for the great report.
I'll be waiting for the next series.

Hey Kushal!
It's Lisa, your mentor.
I really love how you always make this nice card news that summarizes your article!
They are really easily read and I think it's accessible to more people.
Also, I do love the photo:)
Trees are indeed very important, yet we often take them for granted, not appreciating what they do for us.
If it weren't for them, our world, our life would have been very different.
I think it's really time that we actually do something to save them!!
I hope your work inspires many people to engage in reforestation!
Keep up the nice work:)
Green cheers for you my friend!
