[FREE REPORT] WATER POLLUTION IN KENYA |

Water pollution in Kenya has been a problem for a long time now. Companies are known to dump waste in rivers. To make the problem worse, the country has no sewerage system and citizens have to figure out how to take care of their sewage waste. Most landlords and homeowners in the cities contract exhauster trucks to take care of the sewage. These exhauster trucks don't have a place to take this waste and they dump it in rivers and other waterways. Recently, a major news network exposed how manufacturing companies in different sectors were polluting rivers. Somw of them have been shut down and their management arrested. Unfortunately, this does not solve the problem because they were able to get away with polluting the environment by colluding with government officials (allegedly) and also government enforcement of existing regulations is weak. Additionally, like I mentioned, there is no sewerage system. Many people have brought up these issues to the government before, and there have been officials in previous governments who dealt with pollution properly and managed to clean up the rivers and other environment. We're now waiting to see what will happen with this whole situation.

I can see that water pollution is a serious threat in Kenya.
I think way this problem is being dealt is no good to the environment.
Maybe there should to top to bottom approach to solve the root of this problem.

Hey there Yvonne,
I hope you are well, It is such a shame that the same government whom we look to is dealing with this issue without urgency. Polluting a water resource only brings adverse consequences to the people, like high costs to water treatment facilities whom will have to buy more constituents to treat effluent, thus resulting in higher water tariffs.
I really do hope that something is done to alleviate this issue at its soonest.
Thank you for reporting Yvonne!
Warm regards,
Rosa
