FRIDAYS FOR FUTURE ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ @fridaysforfuture is an environmental movement to draw the attention of world leaders to the problem of global warming and irreversible climate change on the planet🌍. ⠀ ⠀⠀ It takes place around the world in the form of Friday strikes by schoolchildren and students asking the authorities: “Why do I need education if I have no future.” ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ In August 2018, 15-year-old Greta Tunberg held her first solitary school strike for climate at the building of the Swedish Parliament. Other pupils and students followed her example. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ On Friday, March 15, 2019, 1.4 million children and adolescents (and not only) around the world took part in the climate strike! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ According to scientists, the problem of climate change is real, and current measures to protect biodiversity, marine and forest resources are not effective enough. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ With their strikes, children show adults that they have forgotten about the pressing problems of the planet and are robbing them of the future. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ “Education is good, but where will we apply it in 11 years?!” - this is what many people say, but I don’t take it off completely. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Looking at these guys, youthful maximalism also wakes up in me. I have been fighting for justice all my life, but I also believe in awareness and will always believe in humanity. ✨ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ A frequent question to my work is: “Why <...>?” This can be said not only about education, it can be said about everything - healthy eating, sex enlightenment, feminism, vegan activism, the fight for fair trade and medicine. Why is all this if we have no future on Earth and will be washed away by a typhoon ?! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ But this is NOT true❗️ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ People should not give up their activities and urgently save the world with eco-activism! Everyone should do what is good! The bottom line is! Indeed, awareness wakes up through one understanding, and develops geometrically in all spheres! ⠀ ⠀⠀ These children attract attention, because environmental education does not have a hot juicy background and sexuality. The theme of ecology is not so “desired" and does not cause animal interest. Agree? ⠀ ⠀⠀ It pains me to look at whales with plastic in their stomachs, but I am sure that my path of enlightenment is different - without a struggle, through love and awareness! ⠀⠀

Thank you for sharing your opinion on Fridays for Future. I agree with you that environmental issues are not getting enough attention that they deserve.
I hope more decision makers in each nation hear the voice of these studnets.

Hey there Yeva!
I agree with you topics ranging into the environmental spectrum is not a heated hot juicy topic that is spoken about by many people on this earth. It is said to believe that people are being straight away from thinking that climate change is real and I think that's one of the main reasons why not many people talk about this issue. This weekly strike is one of the ways we can make noise to adults in high authoritative positions to do something about the alarming consequences to come if we do not listen to what the Earth is saying. And I totally agree with you 100% in that your path if you continue it diligently will lead you into making sure that other people also see the light.
