"LA NATURE ET LA POLLUTION" MY BOOK REVIEW

by Umut Karadeniz | 04-07-2019 05:33 recommendations 0

Before starting to comment about the book called ¡°La Nature Et La Pollution¡±, I would like to give some details about it. The tenth book of the ¡°Crispy Crispy Philosophy¡± series, which brings readers of all ages together with philosophy in all countries in which it is translated, makes us think about nature and the environment. Brigitte Labbe¡¯s Michel, a professor of philosophy at the Sorbone University in Paris, has been writing with a series of basic questions to help children who understand life and the way the world works. These book, each of which covers a different topic, and the stories that we frequently encounter in daily life are unique with their colorful paintings and original designs. The series, which has attracted great interest since 2006, when it started to be published in out counter Turkey, is loved and read by both children and adults.

The book¡¯s subjects is men invented millions of things that made life easier thanks to their intelligence. They created a great civilization but in doing so, they began to feel increasingly superior to all other living things. They began to treat nature like a giant warehouse that they could use as he wanted, a huge dumpster where he could throw everything. In the end, men have forgotten that he is also a part of nature and that they are only ones of the living creatures on earth.

And let¡¯s don¡¯t forget about the writer of the book Brigitte Labbe. After working in the communication industry for a long time, she studied philosophy at the Sorbonne University in Paris. Her work focused on transferring mixed philosophical concepts to children. She wanted to show children that philosophy is a constantly renewing questioning in the series ¡°Crispy Crispy Philosophy¡±. Labbe organizes and discusses philosophy with children in schools, libraries and cafes accompanied by chocolates, cookies and candy. In January 2019, Brigitte Labbe was awarded the Legion d¡¯Honneur, France¡¯s most important state award. This prestigious engagement was given to the author by the French Ministry of Education for the contribution of his book to the educational life of children.

From my point of view this book was something else compared to others book that I have read because it has a different meaning in my heart and brain. You may ask what makes it so special. After reading this book I got in the world of philosophy. When I read this book, I was 11 or 12. Following this book after some years, I read Sophie¡¯s World. Another thing is that these books don¡¯t take you to the world of philosophy, they take to a story that philosophy is the priority. That is why they are fun to read and easy to understand. The most important fact about the book itself is that it made realize so many things that my friends weren¡¯t aware of, the way we treat the earth. This early realization made one of the members of the TUNZA Family because I wanted to do something unlike my friends who don¡¯t care about the planet they live in. So in short, I encourage everyone to read this series because it makes you part of very different societies.

I hope you all like it as much as I did.

    Hi Elizaveta!
I like how the author creates stories that we frequently experience is a great way to show people how normalised our circumstances have become. I also like the theme of how the series is teaching us to think about nature and the environment in a manner that is sustainable.
