by Kushal Naharki | 04-05-2019 23:48 recommendations 1

Cricket world cup is beginning from May 31st and there are many cricket fan waiting for this great season of cricket with the teams fighting for the glory to be hosted by England and Wales. People might get surprised how is the game of cricket linked with environment but eventually it has.

How many of us love sports? Although our favorite may vary from football, cricket, marathon to various other games, but definitely have interest in sports. There are various goods required in sports. With world facing huge problem of pollution, waste and many other, have you ever thought sports goods too can go eco friendly??

Srilankan Cricket team has built their Jersey for the world cup from the waste plastic recycled that has been thrown to the ocean. Plastic pollution has been a great problem with oceans and seas being polluted with the plastic thrown on water. The jersey has the turtle in the sea which represents that this jersey is made from the recycling of the waste plastic being thrown on the sea. This is really an appreciable step which can be great awareness campaign among the sports fan.

This isn't not an first instance of cricket being linked to environment for its protection. Royal Challengers Bangalore, A franchise team in Indian Premier League also plays some of its matches with green jersey to promote green. The captain also provide a plant before the toss.

With the world fighting against many environmental issues, beating plastic pollution involving sports is definately a innovative sport.

    Greetings Kushal,

This is a really interesting article about how sports can go eco-friendly.
The way the Srilankan Cricket team managed to include picture of sea turtle in the jersey will make people question about it and learn about its environment initiative.
Surely, beating plastic pollution through sports is very innovative.

    Sincerely,
