Earth Day is an annually celebrated event celebrated on 22nd April with different events, campaigns and programs all over the globe. On April 22, 1970, millions of people took to the streets to protest the negative impacts of 150 years of industrial development. Last year theme was 'End Plastic Pollution. Before the Earth Day reaches its 50th anniversary in 2020 we celebrated this year¡¯s Earth Day on the theme ¡°Protect Our Species¡±. As Rachel Carson quoted, ¡°In nature, nothing exists alone.¡± We are bonded in an ecosystem where each of us interdependent and interlinked with each other. Activities of one will surely hamper the other. With the development of technologies and infrastructure in the 21st activities, our activities are clearing hampering the environment. Global warming, climate change, pollution etc have resulted an serious impact on the biodiversity with this years Earth Day theme focusing towards the protection of our species. National Trust for Nature Conservation NTNC and United Nation Development Program Nepal together conducted panel discussion program on the occasion of the Earth Day 2019 under this year's theme 'Protect Our Species' for a better planet. Mr. Man Bahadur Khadka from the Department of National Park and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC), Mr. Vijay Singh from UNDP, Mr. Shambu Prasad Dangal from the National Trust for Nature Conservation, and Ms. Sanjeevani Yonjan Shrestha from Wildlife Conservation Society were the panelist in the program where 140 graduate and post-graduate-level students discussed on an overarching range of issues, initiatives and perspectives in environment- and conservation-related disciplines. Alongside panel discussion, paintings and other interactive sessions featured during the celebration with differently abled children made to participate and learn about different species and their conservation along with flash mob dance by UN Trainees highlighting the urgency to protect and promote the cause of the planet's endangered species. |

I agree with your opinion, that our ecosystem is all very interconnected.
