let me share of my learned knowledge on why do we need water for ourselves and what kind of facts we should know in giving awareness to the public. Also for the water managers, I mention the qualities that they should have.

People needs water

For Living - We should not consider water for one morning but for the whole life span. Although the visual price of water bottle is 200 kyats, the unseen value for the life will last for 2 days.

For Using - Not only for drinking water but also for household use water is needed for the people. So that water must need cleanness.

For Earning - Water also earns money and it will support the daily allowance for a family.

For Self - To live healthily, we need to drink and use water.

For Family - It deals with all the above facts. In a family, ­there is a bread winner and house wife. A bread winner should ensure the water security for households. A house wife should manage the water.

For their plants and animals – they needs water to survive. We found much water footprint in paddy cultivation. So that we should focus on developing research works and technology. In the technological base should include both human population and animals’ population.

For their community – Community should cooperate to get water. That’s why IWRM should have in every household.

For culture and religion - Culture means Thingyan festival and religion means like Nyaung yay thun pwal. When these days arrive, much of water supply need.

People for water

Protecting Water Sources - we must protect the water sources such as river, lake, stream, and tube well.

Proper Utilization – the man should use the water in the proper way not to lose.

Proper Storage – to be clean the house hold used water by using the method of covering, throwing, changing and filtering.

Behaviors needed from source to mouth – suitable priority should keep and putting self- interest is not good for the society.

Collaborative activities - everyone who drinks water should participate.

Policy and Regulation   - it has been introduced that Community based planning, Implementation, Monitoring and evaluation in the water policy and regulation in order to take the cooperation of the community.

Community-based P, I, M&E = Community based planning, Implementation, Monitoring and evaluation – local people should have delegation power to vote and reject, and also they should participate –in their concerned sector. Monitoring and evaluation is computing the value if objective comes out or not.
