In the previous report, I mentioned about air pollution in Myanmar especially in Mandalay region. However, the air pollution is not the only problem we are facing seriously in our region these days. Have we all thought about world's forests changing? Why forests are important? Forests are fundamental in keeping the climate change, to be exact, in determining the accumulation of green house gases in the atmosphere. No doubt that air pollution is related to the climate change. To begin with, climate change is caused by either natural causes or man-made cases. However, forests can solve climatic conditions by themselves. Drought, flooding, deforesting and the like are caused if there is no enough trees or forests in the specific regions. One clear example is Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar on 2 May 2008 which was a great loss of the country in both human and natural resources. More than 140,000 people were killed by the storm and thousands of families were loss their home and provided with both local and international aids. Besides, burning of fossil fuels and significant CO2 emissions cause global warming and green house gases. The weather become much hotter and colder than in the past. This literally affect people health in many ways ranging from short term diseases such as eye irritation, headaches, sneezing and to long-term diseases namely cancer, heart diseases, and asthma. In Mandalay, Myanmar, the temperature becomes 45 degree Celsius for this summer the highest in 64 years. reference : https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/global-warming/pollution/ http://www.fao.org/3/a-i4793e.pdf https://www.activesustainability.com/climate-change/link-between-climate-change-air-pollution/ https://www.mmtimes.com/national-news/5333-more-heat-records-broken-in-may-dmh.html |

Hello Thawdar,
This follow-up report after your first report about air pollution is really great and you touched on the importance of forests to us as a means to fight against air pollution. With this said, deforestation can be fatal to us as it cannot protect us from air pollution. We should try our best to save our forests! Thank you for this great report! :)

Hello Thawdar!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful report with Tunza eco generation ambassadors. Most of all, I was really impressed by how you linked air pollution issue with deforestation. Even though we tend to perceive environmental issues as independent events, usually they are deeply intertwined. The effect of deforestation on sir quality and other natural disasters should never be ignored. Thank you for pointing out this important link. Keep up the good work!

Hello Thawadar,
You have raised a pressing issue about dwindling of forest area besides climate change. In fact everything is intertwined. Drastic change in climate is leading to high temperature as you mentioned the temperature reaching 45 degrees in Myanmar, soil erosion and loss of forest area. Thanks:)

Hi Thawdar!
You are right in saying that forests provide a means of protection, not only for wildlife and human beings, but on a bigger scale, forests provide lie for the Earth as a whole. Filling up the atmosphere with oxygen and vapour (evapotranspiration). We have seen how Mother Nature can react when push up against a wall. Deforestation is on process that needs to be eradicated/banned/abolished if we want to see change in the air chemistry.
Other than that, people need to be made aware of the power that forests have and how protecting forests can benefit them as well.
Very opinionative and fact-bound, I enjoyed reading your report Thawdar! Thank you!
Sincerely,
Rosa

hello thawadar,
Deforestation is the crucial act. It's the major cause of rapid change in environment. It must be controlled and replaced by afforestation.
Green cheers
