Air Pollution

by Yu Hsuan Huang | 11-04-2019 06:49 recommendations 0

From the Earth's hour in March and the climate Friday event, it can be known that climate change has a great influence on the survival of human civilization. Air pollution, a problem that threatens human health, is often associated with mitigating the concerns of climate change.

Therefore, the main topics discussed in this report are the degree of air pollution in various places and the impact of air pollution on the human body. In the beginning, we can quote the results of Greenpeace and AirVisual, the air quality monitoring program, to understand the cities with more serious air pollution, and to develop a policy of how to improve air pollution in that city. Then, if there is no health hazard, if there is no improvement in air pollution, I will put forward my own future prospects for air pollution.

As a result of Greenpeace and AirVisual's AirVisual program, we know that India has 22 in terms of overall rankings, and several of the top cities in the air pollution are Indian cities. At this time, there will be a question that arises, why India's air pollution will be more serious than other countries. Then you can explore India's own economic structure to illustrate where India's air pollution control comes from.

From the industrial data of India, it can be seen that India's industry accounts for 7.6% of the country's GDP and employs 17% of the total labor force. India's small industrial products rank 16th in the world, and their small industry emits about 5% of global carbon dioxide. From the total of 5%, it can be known that India still needs the implementation of the policy of renewable energy transformation in industry.

Other countries' air quality data in the report of 3,000 cities around the world can also be seen. Cities surveyed in the Middle East and Africa have all exceeded the standard, and cities in South Asia have reached 99%. So what is the physical impact if there is no prevention of air pollution? This is the next paragraph, which will explain the part that will bring out the future.

Then we quoted from the medical research of air pollution, describing the harm caused by air pollution itself. Global air pollution is estimated to cause 7 million premature deaths next year and impact the global economy. The main harm to the human body can be divided into several parts.

In the respiratory tract, acute respiratory symptoms, asthma, chronic lung obstruction, emphysema, and lung cancer occur. Cardiovascular disease can lead to myocardial infarction. Brain diseases have a risk of stroke and dementia due to cardiovascular diseases. There are also liver cancer, eyes with acute inflammation, dry eye, chronic conjunctivitis, and finally skin with atopic skin cancer, allergic eczema. From the list of diseases above, we can know that air pollution is harmful to the human body as a whole. So how do we overcome these diseases is what we need to mention in our future vision.

Finally, we advocate the future prospect of air pollution prevention and control. If we really want to prevent air pollution, then the use of fossil fuels and the allocation of renewable energy will inevitably be the scope of air pollution prevention and control. Because the petrochemical fuel divestment from 350 international organizations, it is known that this is a cross-border series of moves. Then, in India, it is also the only way to gradually improve the environment and gradually improve your health.

    Hi Yu Hsuan,

To be honest, your report is always impressive and thorough! I totally agree to your point that air pollution cannot be solved without understanding the link between air pollution and energy, and this is why we should urge our government to come up with plans for renewable energy development. I am looking forward to more insightful reports from you! :)

    Hi Hsuan,

Especially in Mpumalanga (in my home country), the air quality and pollution is an issue . I empathise with this health issue the citizens are facing. The lack or non-existence of renewable energy ideas is one of the reasons why we still see a high level of pollutant particles in our atmosphere and unless we change from using fossil fuels to renewable energy, we might not see that change in health as we should.

    Very informative and insightful!
    Sincerely,
    Rosa

    Hsuan Huang,

Thank you for the informative report about polluted cities around the world. Indeed, India has a high rankin in air pollution, but if we look at it from the bright side, India has a very very big population....(

    Hello Yu Hsuan Huang.

Thank you for your wonderful report about cities with serious air pollution and how air pollution is destroying our health. As you pointed out in your report, air pollution problem can??t be solved without understanding the link between air pollution and energy. Lack of renewable energy development and regulation on industry emission is what the cities that have been ranked as the most polluted cities have in common. Your report was very well organized. Keep up the good work! : )
