I have decided to volunteer at Divers Clean Action (DCA) in which is an organization that concerns itself about the environment, specifically life at sea, where my volunteer period ranges from February to March 2019. The volunteer work I have been doing is educating the people about the dangers of plastic to the life at sea. This takes place at KFC Paramount Serpong parking area, where an experience box is set up. Inside the box, it is the view of how the sea underwater would look like in 2050 if we don¡¯t change our habit. There are plastic bottles, plastic straws, and plastic bags in which are strewn everywhere. I would guide and explain to the people about the experience box, how and why plastic is dangerous. At the end of the experience box, people are asked for their commitment to say no to plastic straw. They would have to put a bottle cap in a hole that depends on their answer. It can be just today, this month, or forever. A lot of people choose forever, but there are still some who chooses today and this month. Talking to small groups of people and showing them on how the ocean would look like if we don¡¯t change our habit has been a good experience for me. I feel that it made me more confident, since I have to repeat the same thing to different people. Also, I am able to grow and give more in-depth explanation about the dangers of plastic to these people. |

Hey there Ida!
I noticed that you have a fondness for the marine ecosystem and it's protection and management. The picture that you displayed hear a loud but, realistic picture of just how much plastic we have in our oceans or and moreover, the statement that you put forward that in the years to come, more plastic will be in our oceans then animals then Marine species is true the year. They projected for this to materialize is the year 2050. But this is onlt a projection, so we still have time to mitigate the issue.
Thank you for your lovely insight!
Stay blessed
