Wetland INTRODUCTION
Many wetlands are transitional zones between upland and aquatic ecosystems, although others are scattered across the landscape in upland depressions that collect water or in zones where groundwater comes to the surface. The amount of water present in a wetland can vary greatly. Some wetlands are permanently flooded, while others are only seasonally flooded but retain saturated soils throughout much of the un flooded period. Still other wetlands may rarely flood, but saturated soil conditions still are present long enough to support wetland-adapted plants and for hydric soil characteristics to develop. Hydric soils develop when chemical changes take place in the soil due to the low-oxygen conditions associated with prolonged saturation. TYPES
IMPORTANCE 1. Wetlands purify our water 2. Wetlands store our water to ensure supply during dry periods 3. Wetlands can prevent floods 4. Wetlands recharge ground water 5. Wetlands help to control erosion 6. Wetlands provide shelter for juvenile fish 7. Wetlands provide homes for animals and plants 8. Wetlands provide food for livestock 9. Wetlands protect biodiversity 10. Wetlands provide locations for recreation 11. Wetlands provide plants that can be used for houses and crafts

Hello Deepak, wetlands do have their own mechanism to manage living creatures living inside them and it is quite complex. As your report fully covers basic mechanism and component of wetlands in pictures and excerpts, it must have been an iconic report commemorating Wetland Day to our regional ambassadors!

Thank you for your report about world wetlands day. Wetlands are very important to us as you have mentioned their importance to us but the rate of wetlands decreasing is greater than the rate of deforestation, hence we must focus on to protect the wetlands as they are the natural solutions to climate change.
As the theme of this year is wetlands and climate change, i have written a report on how wetlands acts as solution to climate change and why and how should we protect it.
