"Tomorrow"- My most impressive movie on Environment

by Anishka Jha | 28-11-2018 21:18 recommendations 0

We most of the time hear about the problems and calamities that our planet Earth is facing. Since decades the grim picture of the future of our Earth is being highlighted by various sources. But the streaks of pessimism has been dispelled by a French documentary movie ¡°Tomorrow¡±.  The movie directed by Cyril Dion and Melanie Lauret, has the distinction of not giving in to catastrophism. The movie has exemplified solutions to environmental problems and the initiatives have been proven in ten countries around  the world.

The movie has optimistic presentation and has emphasized upon the solutions rather than the problems. It has highlighted the concrete ways to sustain our environment in the twenty-first century, be it agriculture, energy, economy, education and governance.

When French actress and new mother Mélanie Laurent learned about the dire predictions from the journal Nature which announced the possible extinction of a part of mankind before the end of the 21st century, she wanted to do something that might help avert the disaster. Turning to her own craft, she joined activist Cyril Dion and gathered a team of four filmmakers to search for solutions.

The resulting documentary investigates what people are doing in ten different countries to improve the outlook for life on planet Earth.

The film, spoken in French, English and Hindi, follows its makers as they travel around the world meeting people intent on making the world a better, greener, more sustainable place. The uplifting stories document improvements that are actually being implemented in the spheres of agriculture, the economy, energy, democracy, and education–side-by-side–to show what our world might look like tomorrow.

The movie ends with a message of hope even though it starts with an alarming note about the demise of human race very soon. The movie has bagged the Cesar Award for Best documentary Film for the year 2016 and had featured in COLCOA French Film Festival.

Hello Anishka, after I read your report up here, I went out to search 'Tomorrow' clips.
Admitting the fact and what we are facing is really important since it is not something like our assignment or school exam we can cram.
However, such people in the movie still do pay attention and put effort at least to prevent further problems of our 'tomorrow'.
Hope other regional ambassadors can have opportunity to watch the movie!
Thanks for introducing such a nice movie :)

    Hello Anishka
We are quite adjusted to documentaries that warn us about the crisis that we would face if our environment falls in the present rate and probably we really do need some optimistic hope that could give us power again to lead this world to a greener place!
    Thanks for sharing :)
