An Environmental Awareness Event in Kenya

by Bonface Obuba | 18-11-2018 16:39 recommendations 1

We held an environmental awareness event on the Friday of 16th November 2018 at the Nairobi National Museum. To help me organise this event was the Writers Guild Kenya to which I belong.

I'm so grateful a good number of people showed up. Among them were lawyers, environment enthusiasts, engineering students and writers.

We had a discussion on the environmental issues in Kenya.
It was just incredible to see young people speak passionately about the environment.

I then gave an address in which I talked about the degrading global environment. I also spoke of an imminent water crisis in Kenya.
The details of my speech are on another report.

Tom Mwiraria a journalist and recipient of the Eco Warrior Award came with his trophy and implored us to be what he called 'Warriors of the Rainbow' (or simply warriors of nature) in our own spheres.
