Can global environmental issues positively affect the future of our planet? Are there any benefits of climate change for humanity, economy, and world's ecosystems? It's not completely true that the ruinous consequences of the global warming do more good than harm, however, its tiny advantages should definitely be taken into consideration. To begin with, raising temperatures open up new horizons for agriculture, infrastructure and economy. Firstly, cultivated areas with fertile soils are expected to expand at high latitudes. To add to it, the ?shifting seasons? phenomenon could also become an advantage to some farmers as it would boost agricultural production in northern countries. A warmer climate makes it possible to grow more types of crops and increases vegetation activity. Moreover, the duration of growing seasons will last longer and will be comparable to current one in Northern Italy. Besides, raising temperatures provide new opportunities for the travel and tourism industry. Longer summers can attract a greater flow of tourists, and new tourist destinations can be created. For example, ex-permafrost areas might be used for this purpose. What is more, an ice-free Northwest Passage will providing a shipping shortcut between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The growing potential of both tourism and agricultural sector leads to a genuine improvement in the economic situation, as local income increases, and more workplaces are created. Global warming can also raise living standards to some extent. Winters will become milder, and winter deaths will decline as temperatures warm. In fact, scientists claim, that harsh winters cause a rise in heart failures. Moreover, climate change may lower energy costs, which is especially important for the poor, who simply cannot afford heating. Nevertheless, the ruinous effect of climate change is obvious: rising sea levels, an increase in the number of people exposed to devastating droughts, floods and other cataclysms, biodiversity and habitat loss, - all these consequences of global worming put human survival at risk. Furthermore, they contradict ideas of Sustainable development, which are based on the principle of coevolution of the environment, society and economy. To sum up, it's true that a warmer world could benefit certain people, species, regions and industries – at least for a period. However, these advantages should be taken into account in the context of a numerous destructive effects of climate change. Therefore, humans should fight against global warming, but use its benefits in the process of adaptation to the changing environment.

Hello Daria, global warming was simply thought to be just existing throughout our world but it has become severe like climate change and apparently changing the overall temperature and other relative environment.
There are some big different points between climate change and global warming, but people usually forget they are independent variables, not affecting them each other. I think that's why we are losing the point to solve them.
Thanks for your report!

Hello Daria!
' – at least for a period' seems to be the right prase for the short period benefits that are being shwon in some places by global warming. Hwoever it is true that if global warming continues in this content we will have no more place to live. And when this happems the first and most to suffer won't be the actuall causer of this phenomena but rather people who are less guilty for this result.
Thanks for the reprot!

Hi Daria!
I like how you opened your report in saying that indeed that are a multitude of positive impacts of global warming to certain members, regions and organisations. And how you still recognised that in full context, that global warming is still a big issue and should be seen as a devastating plague to the planet.
Thank you so much for the report. I saw climate change in a manner that I have never seen it before.

Hi Daira,
Despite the continuous emphasis on the negative effects of global warming, it is very surprising to learn of the profitable side of it. Actually, I'm not sure the benefits of global warming are sustainable.
Your report was very educative. Thanks for letting us know the possible benefits of global warming.

A unique report Daria
however Global warming has more bads than goods so keeping this in view one must take Global warming as harmful phenomenon :)

Great report Daria! I've never even thought about how global warming could benefit humanity, but the points you have mentioned are some to be revised. While it is true that rise in temperature could benefit agriculture in areas that grow crops that require warmer climate, it could also ruin the agricultural produce of areas that grow crops that require colder temperatures or less fertile soil. All in all, as we do our best to reduce global warming, we should be open to new oppportunities that climate change can cause! :)
