Years passed, building changed but the love for this place is always the same. So whenever Iam back home I go to this place i.e my school(Tamakoshi English Boarding School) where I studied till grade 10. Yesterday I had visited my school and Deepak sir had asked me to form an Eco Club in the school as a part of Friday programme to make the students aware, responsible and motivate them on Environmental education. Today At around 10:30 A.m. I reached the school equipped with stuffs from Tunza, Ecogeneration. Randomly from the pool of enthusiastic students of grade 7,8 and 9;35 students were selected by Gobinda sir and Kusha sir and adjusted in a hall for the orientation. I started to write my full name on the board and before I completed they shouted?Dibya Bhatta? 😃 It feels good when juniors already know you! 😉 "Dear brothers and sisters,Iam here to form an Eco Club to make you aware on Environmental issues,to give you some tasks "I started. The girl in the glasses interrupted and said?Didi,President चाहि केटीलाई नै बनाईदिनु ल Child Club मा सबै केटाहरू मात्र छन्!? Me: कुन चाही बहिनीलाई बनाउने त?😂 Another girl:हामी छौं नि दिदी! These words Echoed in my mind I Did not know what to say to them and I just smiled. And was very happy to see these girls coming forward so ready to lead. I also convinced them ?whoever be elected as president, girl or boy; he or she is your senior or friend and you will support them as a team? And they all agreed. I explained them briefly about Tunza Ecogeneration;the elite environmental networking platform established by joint effort of UNEP and samsung engineering. I added on the benefits of Eco clubs. It raises awareness among high school students on climate and environment issues. It can play an important role to improve the environment of school and beautify the surrounding. The local people can see the initiative done by these clubs and get motivated. This can be a best way for the students to network with support agencies and most importantly they can link it with the activities in their curriculum of environment education. It makes them responsible individuals. It is best platform for leadership. They can post their activities as report and build up national and international contacts. It also enhances their personality. After sharing on benefits ;I decided to do the voting for the formation of the committe and fortunately I must say ;the same girl(Nikita Pandey) was elected as the President. But I also believe that whether it be girl or boy,a capable individual should lead any club or organization. The club was named TEBS Eco Club. I guided them how to maintain reports on meetings. The orientation ended up with promise to conduct programmes each Friday name share them on social media to motivate others as well. At the end of the session I gifted them with Eco-friendly stuffs from Tunza and wrapped up the meet with a group photograph. Green cheers! #EcoWarrior #UNEP #SAmsungEngineering #IAASASIAPACIFIC #IAAS NEPAL #Paklihawa #Manthali #TEBS #Ecoclub |

Hello Dibya, it must have been so exciting for you to revisit your school after your graduation, right?! :)
I do agree with your words up here : 'It makes them responsible individuals.'
You've grown up as 'responsible individual' for 'sustainable future and community', and younger students in upcoming generation would follow your ways, too!
Education opportunities are so important in this sense, and I do hope this can be added onto other chances of individuals to participate against climate change
Thanks for your priceless experience to share with us!!

Hello Dibya
I totally agree to what we feel towards our own schools that we've attended as youths. I too occasionally visit my old school where I get to meet good willed and bright students who are determined to do something good to this world. I bet your visiting must have inspired lots of students in to loving this mother nature!
Thanks for sharing~
