Endangered species in Rwanda |

It would sound like a fable or just another fantasy for a next century generation hearing that in Rwanda there was a wild dog or a black rhinoceros.
Rwanda is a small country with a remarkable variety of ecosystems of flora and fauna. It is located at the heart of the Albertine Rift eco-region in the western arm of the Africa?s Rift Valley is a contributory factor. This region is one of Africa?s most biologically diverse regions. Rwanda is one of the top birding countries with 670 different birds having been recorded. Four of species of birds in Rwanda are threatened with extinction:
the country also host endangered plant species. Markhamia lutea and Eulophia guineensis. are abundant in Akagera national park in east of the country. government and people have appreciated and adopted culture of valuing nature through conservation areas, mitigation of hunting and even sensitization. source: REMA(Rwanda environment management agency)

Hello Iphigenie!
I heard about shoebills but did not know they also do live in Rwanda :)
And about mountain gorillas, it is afraid that they are still facing extinction due to degradation of forests and social conflicts among human beings around their habitats.
I could also take a quick search on other animals you mentioned above too.

I feel sad every time when I get to hear news about species that are near extinction.
