Climate change which is a long-term shift in weather patterns have been one one of the most recently talked about phenomenon recently. Such shifts can be natural, due to changes in the sun¡¯s activity or large volcanic eruptions. But human activities have been the main driver of climate change for the past 2000years, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas which generates greenhouse gas that act like a blanket wrapped around the Earth, trapping the sun¡¯s heat and raising temperatures. The effects of these changes is mostly felt by developing countries like Cameroon. Climate change poses a significant challenges and impacts on Cameroon's environment, economy, and population. The country has been witnessing increasing temperatures over the past decade. This has resulted to increasing heatwaves, an alternation in precipitation patterns with Some regions experiencing prolonged dry spells, leading to water scarcity, droughts, and desertification while other areas face intensified rainfall, which in some cases has resulted to floods, soil erosion, and landslides. With age being the backbone if Cameroon economy, a changing precipitation patterns will not only affect food security but the it who economy. In a country with a diverse ecosystem such as Cameroon, the climate change poses a significant threat to it rainforest, Savannah and wetlands with the fear of species extinction. The health of it population is directly and indirectly at risk as a result of climate change. With all these, the Government of Cameroon keep taking actions towards the mitigation and adaptation of climate change effects. Some of these action include ; the institution of the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan and the National Climate Change Action Plan with the aim of building resilient and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, putting in places legislation to ensure a sustainable land use, participating in in global climate change discussions and cooperates with international partners to access funding, technology transfer, and capacity building support. With all these, further actions to addressing climate change will always be needed

Hello Sandrine! This is your mentor James.
It seems appropriate to view the recent climate change as an artificial phenomenon caused by human activity rather than a natural phenomenon. The climate crisis in Cameroon is a global phenomenon, not a crisis confined to a particular country, but a global crisis. Therefore, responding to this crisis requires global discussion and countermeasures, as you mentioned in the report. I hope that global efforts such as legislation and carbon reduction will be made.
Thank you for your fantastic work! Let's keep it up with your next report as well.
