Challenges to Food and Water Security Population Growth: The world's population continues to grow, putting immense pressure on food and water resources. As the population expands, so does the demand for food, which leads to increased agricultural activities and water consumption. Climate Change: Climate change poses severe threats to both food and water security. Rising temperatures, erratic weather patterns, and extreme events such as floods and droughts disrupt agricultural production and freshwater availability. Water Scarcity: With nearly 2.2 billion people lacking access to safe drinking water, water scarcity is a pressing issue. Over-extraction of groundwater, pollution, and inefficient water management exacerbate the problem. Agricultural Practices: Conventional agricultural practices often lead to soil degradation, loss of biodiversity, and pollution.
