Why are frogs disappearing worldwide and what can be done to save them? |

Amphibians specially frogs populations around the world are drastically declining at an alarming rate. The main causes behind this drop are habitat destruction, killing frogs to eat them, harmful chemical waste from the industries, some diseases and fungal attack specially Chytridiomycosis by chytrid fungus. These important facts were presented by Dr. Kerry M. Kriger, founder of ?Save The Frogs? at a seminar held at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. The university?s nature based organization green explore society organized the event and Dr. Kerry in his presented different facts about frogs and the activities of the global movement, ?Save The Frogs? incisively. In the seminar the students of the university from various discipline as well as Professor of Anthropology department Prof. Dr. Abdul Awal Biswas was present at the seminar. Dr. Kerry told about how frogs help us differently. As like:

Thanks Sumit for this report. I am familiar with the 'Save the Frogs' Campaign having participated in the Art and Poetry Contest few years ago. It is a great initiative.

Thanks for the report. This is a good initiative. Save the frogs. Indiscriminate killing must be stopped.

This issue is very big, have to understand that the nature is not for human being and we are not the owner of this resources but we are the trustee only and we must provide the space for other creation of nature so they can sustain. But what actually happening we are destroying our biodiversity by creating pollution and unfavorable atmosphere for them.
