Amphibians specially frogs populations around the world are drastically declining at an alarming rate. The main causes behind this drop are habitat destruction, killing frogs to eat them, harmful chemical waste from the industries, some diseases and fungal attack specially Chytridiomycosis by chytrid fungus.

These important facts were presented by Dr. Kerry M. Kriger, founder of ?Save The Frogs? at a seminar held at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. The university?s nature based organization green explore society organized the event and Dr. Kerry in his presented different facts about frogs and the activities of the global movement, ?Save The Frogs? incisively.

In the seminar the students of the university from various discipline as well as Professor of Anthropology department Prof. Dr. Abdul Awal Biswas was present at the seminar.

Dr. Kerry told about how frogs help us differently. As like:

• 1.    Many medicines have been invented from the body parts of frogs.
• 2.    Frogs play a vital role in maintain eco systems by feeding on insects and pests.
• 3.    Frogs act as a bio indicator.
• 4.    Frogs prey on insects and pests which are harmful for humans.

Among the efforts to save frogs these are very effective and feasible:

• 1.       Creating habitats: Ponds, water sources, food sources.
• 2.       Organizing campaigns.
• 3.       Strengthening the laws and policy to curb the use of frogs in restaurant business.
• 4.       Efforts to create awareness the in rural areas.
