by Simran Vedvyas | 13-02-2018 01:39 recommendations 0

UAE Energy Strategy 2050

sets a 50 per cent target for clean energy in the total energy mix by 2050, among others.

When the government and the people all join in a vision together and work hard then it is possible to achieve success.

It is imperative that steps and forward thinking goes hand in hand to realise the well thought plans.

The UAE will invest AED 600 billion in clean energy initiatives until 2050 to achieve its economic needs and reach its environmental goals.

Under the new plan, 44 percent of the UAE?s energy output will be from clean energy sources while 6 percent will be nuclear.

It is estimated that the target will result in savings equivalent to AED 700 billion until 2050.

Thanks for your report Simran. To add to your report, I have appended below a message by HH Sheikh Muhammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, (the Ruler of Dubai and the Prime Minister and Vice President of UAE)- that clearly explains the commitment of UAE towards clean energy.
'The new strategy takes into consideration an expected annual growth of 6 percent, and will work on increasing the contribution of clean energy in the energy mix from 25 percent to 50 percent by 2050 while slashing carbon footprint during power generation by 70 percent over the next three decades. Ensuring the sustainability of energy resources is a guarantee of sustainability of growth in our country. The government has made an achievement by drafting the first unified energy strategy in the country based on supply and demand. He who does not think of energy is not thinking about the future,' Sheikh Mohammed said.

The plan of UAE to produce clean energy is welcome step and personaly i appreciate it. As we know that in present time UAE is producing huge amount of pollution every day so the initiative taken by them to curb the pollution by producing 50% of energy requirement through clean energy is a good move. Thanks UAE for such step and motivating us.
