Shehla Masood:
Shehla Masood lost her life for her vociferous activism, probing in illegal diamond mining and for her efforts to stop the poaching of tigers. Anything that touched Masood's heart was picked up by her and she fought till the end for it. As an environmentalist, Masood contributed and was involved in projects on wildlife conservation. She also helped in investigating the deaths of Tigers in Kanha sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh. In 2011, she was shot at point-blank range outside her residence for her daring initiatives. Shehla Masood was posthumously awarded the award for her relentless effort under the category, 'Crusade Against Corruption'.
