Key Moments at COP22, Marrakech Morocco

Dear Eco-Gen family,

I already shared two articles previously about the Hide and Seek at COP and my reflections on 22nd United Nations Conference on Climate Change i.e. COP22. No doubt, I had an enriching experience as an Observer to COP22. But there were some key moments that I would like to highlight among others:

1)    Youth Speaker at YOUNGO?s Youth Day Session- YOUNGO, the official youth constituency at United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) marked Youth Day on 7th November by organizing different sessions simultaneously. I am so glad to share that I was one of the panelist representing my organization CliMates in the session ?Mainstreaming Climate Change In Education: Opportunities and Challenges.? In the session I had chance to share about my campaigns and advocacy to integrate climate reality in academic courses. Also, I shared about the current status of climate education among youths and their perception, efforts by government and youth- friendly nature of the policies.

2)    Interviewing H.E Dessima Williams- It was such an honor for me and my amazing colleague Jay Ralitra from our youth association CliMates to be as a panelist with respected Dessima Williams (Special Advisor, Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, Office of the President of the General Assembly, 71st Session) on 15th November, 2016 at COP22. When I said, youth are making voices and creating momentum but is anyone hearing them? In response she said me that youth are more powerful than ever and I was speaking at a global platform. Definitely youth are heard and capable to work in partnership for more sustainable future. It was such inspiring, I felt more motivated and empowered than ever.

3)    Meeting with my fellow ambassadors- I am super excited to share that COP22 provided me this awesome opportunity to meet two of our amazing Eco-gen Ambassadors namely, Udeh Chiagozie and Joshua Amponsem. Though we had a short meet up due to busy schedules but yet it was so wonderful to meet and interact with them in person.

4)    Interview featured in Hello Friday: The next key moment was being featured in Hello Friday, the annex of reputed Nepalese national daily newspaper Kantipur. I express my kind gratitude to senior sub Editor Mr. Abdullah Miya from Kantipur Daily, who interviewed me in the COP venue and featured the report entitled ?Climate Journey of Bindu? on 25th November, 2016.

Among many other treasured moments, these were the key achievements for me in COP22.

Dear Bindu, Meeting fellow ambassadors is indeed great. Nice clicks.
I agree, the youth of today is more powerful than ever. That is mainly due to mass spread of social media.
