UAE Food Safety Rating Rises 24 percent in Three Years Reaching 98 percent in 2016 Compared to 74 percent in 2013

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment MOCCAE has announced that the food safety rating in the UAE has witnessed a 24 percent increase in the last three years.

This came as a result of combined efforts between the Ministry and the local authorities in issuing the Federal law No.10 of 2015 regarding the food safety, unifying the vision, mission and strategy of the food safety in all emirates of the country, applying a unified manual for monitoring imported food, training employees in food establishments and using an electronic inspection system.

UAE Ranks number one in Gulf region for Food Safety

According to the World Health Organisation, unsafe food is known to have been involved in more than 200 different diseases ranging from cholera to various forms of cancer.
