Climate Change: Can it simply be deleted? |
---|
Is climate change real? Is is a hoax? Can we make the threat of climate change disappear by hitting DELETE on our computer? The White House has removed the page that was devoted to climate change action from its website. Does that make the problem go away? Wouldn't it be nice if the solution was that simple. Additionally, a website for the Council on Environmental Quality also disappeared it was founded in 1969 so has endured for many years. Why the sudden change? The 'delete syndrome' continues with the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) website which has been rumored to have pages that will be deleted as well. Pertinent information contained on these pages with links to important reports will become more difficult to access for scientists should these valuable sources disappear. The public is aware of the problem and simply erasing a page from a website will not erase it from the minds and hearts of those persons who are conscientious and passionate about climate change issues. Climate change is real, the effects are felt every day, and its causes have been revealed by scientists all over the world. As reported by respected sources, it only took one hour after the new administration took office for the website changes to be initiated. One hour, two degrees, one Earth, two choices. Either you support climate change initiatives to help save our Earth, or you don't. The choice is yours. One hour cannot change the fact that two degrees warmer for Earth could mean that we will be deleting more than simply pages on a website.

We are witnessing a somewhat ironical situation where the U.S. is backing out from free trade mechanism and China declaring to take the next lead and very similar happenings also going on in terms of the environment. It really looks like we are living the privileged time to see all these changes right in front of our eyes.

I do not wish to mix politics with environment.
But in my opinion Climate change is indeed real & we may work to mitigate its effects as supported by our local government bodies.

Thanks for sharing, Anna. I feel very sorry about the fact that environmental problems are being denied by some politicians. However we delete the issues, environmental pollution does not disappear, sadly.

Well being honest it difficult to go change it back to as it was.
All we can do now make some efforts to keep it as it is and dont ruin it more.

US President's denial of Climate change and his withdrawal of support or rather ignoring all such issues makes all of us very worried. It's really pity for eco conscious people like us and for our Mother Earth.
In a 2012 tweet, he said: ¡°The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.¡±
How could he simply deny global warming by putting allegations like this.
I completely agree with you that the issue/challenge can't be wiped off by simply deleting it from one's website.
Let's just hope that global protests and voice being raised against his judgements against Environment, will change his mind or His administration team would be able to change his mindset.
Thanks for sharing.

Sad to hear that climate change is being targeted by politics. It is not a waste that can simply be dumped, it is like a virus which must be removed from the base by collective effort.
