Visiting PHD School in Dhaka

by | 12-07-2016 01:09 recommendations 0

PHD school is an educational institute for the disadvantaged children coming from poor families who cannot afford the high educational expenses. It is mostly run by university students who are enrolled in different programs including medical, engineering, economics and business. Many university students volunteer in different tasks such as fund raising, teaching and promotions.

Schools like these are enabling poor families to send their children to schools and thus afford education for the first time.

A friend of mine works in this school thus I decided to visit here and spend some time with the children and have discussions with them. At the end of my visit I shared the goodies sent by Tunza and needless to say the children were ecstatic to receive them.

Some of them were so enthusiastic that they instantly started writing and drawing on the post it notes with their eco pens. Being able to teach them about the environment, climate change and sustainability was an interesting experience. They listened carefully and actively participated in my sessions.

Spending time with the community itself is very rewarding since it allows us to contribute to our society. I would say the most rewarding part of this experience was seeing the smiles of the numerous children after they received their gifts.

Being an eco ambassador I really hope I get more future opportunities to contribute to my community.

Yeah i guess you'll need some sessions first to break the ice :D Children will then be able to know more about how they can also participate in this time of change. Cheers for your good work!

Spending time with such people (sweet from their heart though bit disadvantaged) is the best way to pray and be a genuine human. Thanks for sharing. #Sharinghappiness.
