Today: Saraswati Puja and World Cancer Day |

I have always been happy to share and learn about cultures around the world. In Nepal today is Saraswati Puja, a day to worship the goddess of education.Saraswati, according to Hinduism, is regarded as a powerful goddess who blesses her devotees with knowledge and wisdom. Today is the day when all the students and academic professionals worship her idol, offer flowers in the temple and eat prasad (fruits and sweets after offering in temples). People visit nearby temples and worship ceremonies are conducted in every educational institutes. In my college also, worship ceremonies was held in the morning. Another important event today is World Cancer Day. The theme of World Cancer Day 2014 is "Debunk the myths Reduce stigma and dispel Myths about cancer." The various myths of cancer are
Sources ( Red Cross, Rampur, Nepal) Today on the occasion of World Cancer Day, Red Cross, Rampur Unit has organized slogan rally with the view to raise awareness among people and to debunk the myths of the cancer. Thank you for the great information on Nepal. I liked the meaning of Saraswati Puja a lot. We can play clever but to truly enjoy our life, we need to love to become wiser and wiser everyday.
