Dear Tunza friends,
I am delighted to share with you that my emirate Sharjah (I live in Sharjah) has recently launched a ?Rent a bike? service. It is a 24-hour service and allows Sharjah residents to rent a bicycle from any of the four Byky stations across the city. The objective of this service is to give residents the chance to tour Sharjah on a bike which is such a healthy , environment friendly and fun mode of transportation. The four official bicycle terminals in Sharjah are located at Khalid Lakes, Mamzar, Al Majaz and Buhairah Corniche. Process is very simple .
Bicycles can be rented out for the duration of half an hour up to 24 hours . 30 minutes service would cost Dh 15(USD 4) , 1 hour costs Dh 20(USD 5.4). Max is 80Dh (USD 22) for 24 hours There would be penalties/fine for not returning the bicycle at an official station or for not locking the bicycle or for losing it. I am looking forward to trying it myself very soon. |

So far the operation seems complicated specially for visitors in the country. I feel they are most likely to opt for this . Soon I hope it will be simpler. Anyway, I'll definitely try it out.
