Remember folks, on weekends all parks and beaches of Dubai used to be swarming with bon fires & barbequing especially in winter season. People lit up the fires to warm themselves and also to grill & roast meat & fish etc. There were signboards warning revelers not to do this activity in undesignated areas. Public seem to ignore this & carry out the environmentally hazardous activity without fail. Beginning from 2014, Dubai Municipality has begun issuing warning to people to lit up Barbecue only in designated areas otherwise a hefty fine of AED1,000 (US $ 270) shall be issued. This initiative of Dubai Government is worth praising as these fires damage environment and unsafe practice also. It leaves a bad smell in the area around. The burning ashes may burn the skin of people. Children are more prone to such burn injuries. People are allowed to lit up fires but in designated places. If this practice is supervised it is a real fun otherwise it is a health hazard. Pic courtesy .gayot.com |

If we go on entertaining ourselves without caring about the environment, it can really lead us to the disastrous future. However, i wish Dubai government will be able to implement the act of letting people to lit up barbecue in designated area only.
