Green Agents Coffee Share

by | 30-12-2013 17:23 recommendations 0

Last week, I have a coffee share named "Green Agents" Coffee Share as an activity in the role of TUNZA ambassador in corporation with Green Life Cafe (The first environmental cafe in Saigon, Vietnam).

Green Life Cafe was opened since September 2011 with the vision to become an eco-friendly cafe using alternatives energy, 3R system, furniture, cups, dishes and other things are recycled. This cafe wishes to motivate people to follow eco-life. It also wants to become a place for meeting, networking and exchanging among environmental organizations and activists in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

After one year, Green Life Cafe launched many interesting activities: Afternoon Tea Break to discussion and exchange ideas for eco-life, Recycling Class to teach people how to recycle and reuse things around their home, Shopping corner where environmental businesses can present their products there.

In this coffee share, I told about my stories to become a young environmental activist, the new trends in environmental activities in Vietnam and in the world I could see, my visions and dreams for environmental issues in Vietnam. I also introduce about TUNZA Eco-generation Network.

I showed them the leaflet of TUNZA Eco-generation platform, open the website and instruct them how to use and maximize the benefits from platforms. They were very interested, however also had many worries.

Language barrier

Most of student in Vietnam have several limitations in English, thus they are afraid of reading and writing in English. That is the biggest prevent for them to join TUNZA Eco-generation.

We have a plan to work together in the activity of "Free Teaching English" that environmental activists good at English will teach English for them, using reports and articles in TUNZA Eco-generation as materials and the homework and exams will be related to this platform also. It will be a good way to improve English skill of Vietnamese students and bring TUNZA Eco-generation platform to them in a new approach.

We also have a promise that when we have more people being good at English, we will translate the articles into Vietnamese and build up a blog to keep all writings.

People also very concern about my responsibilities of ambassador and I share with them my reports, experiences and lessons from my work.

Hopefully that our project of "Free Teaching English" will be successful and we will have more Vietnamese in this platform.

Well, I think you may already know about google translation page but let me recommend the page to you. http://translate.google.co.kr/#vi/en/ This page will translate the Vietnamese into English and it's quite accurate. Your friends wouldn't experience difficulties with it. :-)
