Turning Dirty Diapers into Roofing Tiles

Ever heard the expression, ?What will they think of next?? Well, here it is: recycling dirty dia¢¯ers into roofing tiles. We?re serious. A Canadian company called Knowaste recently opened the first of what the company says will be several plants in Great Britain capable of sterilizing dirty plastic diapers, breaking them apart, and compressing the pieces into roofing tiles or outdoor seating. This could be really good for the environment. While more moms are using cloth diapers, a lot still use plastic. The average baby re¢¯ortedly uses about 6,000 diapers, and the plastic ones usually end up in landfills, where they can take 500 years to decompose.
