Despite having strong environmental laws and policies, the Philippines' national and local governments struggle to effectively administer these policies due to a lack of resources and capacity. According to the worldbank and usaid, the Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004, the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999, and the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 are only a few of the nation's many environmental laws and regulations. Protecting the country's bodies of water, ensuring clean air,  and providing proper  waste management are the goals of the laws. All of these regulations must be put into practice by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).  In order to help with the establishment of environmental standards. and the study of current and future environmental issues, the DENR also administers a research and development program. By strengthening the implementation of current rules and regulations, such as the Solid Waste Management Act, the Clean Air Act, and the Environmental Impact Assessment Law, the Philippines can protect the environment better. This can be achieved by developing  financial resources at both the national and local levels of government.  Environmental sustainability and climate resilience can also be enhanced by actions like supporting renewable energy, investing in climate-resilient infrastructure, and encouraging businesses to use sustainable practices.
