BUY NOTHING RAMPUR (BNR) This a story of a group of students who are living in the hostel of a University in Nepal. BNR is a group where you can find a way to give, receive, share, lend and express a gratitude through a close and safe network. Someone who is currently living around the area of the college/ university, if they own something (which has not been used or will never use again) and wish to give it someone who really need ; or a person looking for something want to have it but don¡¯t want to buy an join this group. This is a user-friendly group mainly concerned about carbon footprint and want to promote the habit of Recycling, Reusing and Reducing, which finally helps in combatting climate change in the minimal way possible. There are many things that we can share or give away in hostel such as photocopy notes, color boxes and so many things we can reuse or recycle. Our trash can be useful to someone. This kind of gesture can be a good platform to reduce our waste also an idea to save our money. Sharing is Caring. Pic credit: FB group of Buy Nothing Rampur |

Hello Bal!
It's your SJ mentor.
I hope you are doing well.
Thank you for introducing BNR, an organization that encourages and promotes recycling and reuse.
Under the current mass production system, people tend to throw away things they don't need right away because they are very easy to make new things which is cheap.
But things that you don't need can have a good use for someone.
In Korea, a platform has been formed to sell goods that they do not need, making active transactions.
On various platforms such as Carrot Market and Secondhand Country, people contact through smartphones and the Internet to make secondhand transactions.
I don't know if there are such platforms in other countries, but I hope they will spread around the world.
Green cheers!
Sincerely,
SJ mentor.

Hello Bal,
this is your mentor WooJoo.
Warm greetings from South Korea!
Thank you for introducing us the BNR group!
Joining in such group and sharing things with people, reusing items without buying are very eco-friendly actions that increase the opportunity to achieve the green goals.
If books, notes and other school materials are given to those who need them, then there would be no new production nor wastes.
Additionally, this is beneficial since most of the school materials are thrwon away withough being used till the end.
In South Korea, we have a market app where people can sell and buy what they want, and this process helps us to reuse and upcycle.
I wish that my university could do the same thing!
Green cheers!
Regards
WooJoo
