Dear all, Hope you are doing well. Living in the world where technology is more prioritized, we somehow forgot about its consequences. The reason why I chose this topic to be discussed is how people are unconcerned about the planet we have been living in. One of the main issues in Uzbekistan undoubtedly is Aral Sea. When I wrote about its situation, our Mentors here on Tunza expressed their interests in it which I appreciate the most. Let me tell what was done so far for the Aral Sea in Uzbekistan. First and foremost, I must mention that TEDx Countdown event about environment was organized for the first time in Uzbekistan. Despite the fact that it is still lockdown over here, we could organized this event not online but offline where talks sounded real and felt its seriousness. There were many speakers talking concerning their own stories, expereince. I would like to tell about one amazing speaker, human - Bibijan Aralbaeva is a 33 year old Ecological Volunteer who was born in Muynak, Karakalpakstan. Bibijan is Aral¡¯s daughter, even her surname is Aralbaeva! She contributed immensely to the project of ¡°The Sea Is Gone But The People Are Not¡± which was directed to planting trees in 3 hectares of field. We heard the stories of Aral, Bibijan was the one who breathed the stories. Here she is willing to share her TED Talk. Tune in to hear ¡°My Letter to Aral Sea¡±. Pens, containers, straws, pill bottles, yogurt cups, ketchup pouches, etc are items which are used only once and then discarded. Though these items may seem insignificant, these may take anything from 6 months to 10 years to decompose. However, good news is that smart choices can be made and each of these items replaced without hampering day to day functions or drastic changes to lifestyle. Countdown is a global initiative to champion and accelerate solutions to the climate crisis, turning ideas into action. To build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 in the race to a zero-carbon world – a world that is safer, cleaner and fairer for everyone. WE CAN CHANGE CLIMATE CHANGE. Become part of the community of changemakers committed to creating a better future. Hope I could convey. Thanks! Acknowledgement: Sincerely thank Malika Rakhimova is the license holder of TEDxNavoiStreet Countdown Event.he is the license holder of multiple of TEDx Conferences among them TEDxNPU in China, TEDxNavoiStreet, and upcoming TEDxWoman event in Tashkent. Additionally Malika contributed to the organization of TED-Ed Result in Tashkent as a Coordinator and aiming to form a TED-minded society in Uzbekistan. She made it happen and hoping our environmental society be expanded more and more! |

Hello Vazira!
It's your SJ mentor.
Warm greetings from Korea!
Thank you for sharing your earnest report with us.
It is good to know the essential content from the TEDx.
Though it is little bit tiresome, we could replace single use products such as straws, cups, containers.
I am also striving to use reusable ones rather than disposable things.
We can change our world from the small exertion to bigger ones.
Keep up with your hard work!
Green cheers!
Best regards,
SJ mentor.

Hello Vazira,
this is your mentor WooJoo.
Thank you for sharinf such an interesting report with us.
People from Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan may be the major victims of the loss of Aral Sea, but all of us know that it was due to our actions from around the world and that's why we should increase our awareness.
The event, and the ecological volunteer are wonderful,
and hopefully their effort affected people positively, and made them act together.
Please remember to include references of your sources.
Green cheers!
Regards,
WooJoo
